Congratulations to John Marshall ’27! John was named a Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholar for his work with Families4Families, a non-profit organization he co-founded with his brothers at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship is a program that recognizes student innovation and youth-led solutions that fight hunger in the U.S. These young people are creating awareness and mobilizing peers in their communities to be catalysts for change.

Celebrating a Landon love story! Former Upper School Art Teacher Kevin Hetzel and former Upper School Science Teacher Alyssa Jackson said “I do” in Alyssa’s home state of Hawaii. Of course, their Landon friends were there to support the happy couple on their special day.

The pair met while serving as Teacher-Coach-Mentors at Landon in 2019. Congratulations to Kevin and Alyssa! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.

Grade 8 students ended the year by exploring local history in person. Led by Middle School History Teacher Travis Wooden, the boys documented their visits before blending their research and creativity into a District of Stories mural in the Middle School.

They wrote: The purpose of this mural is to explore the historical sites in Washington D.C. that connect to what we learned throughout the year. The project shows us how D.C. reflects the history of the United States. It gave us a chance to explore and learn more about our history.
