While the previous Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN) form expired on January 31, CMS allowed it to be used until May 11. Starting today, May 12, providers must now use the new ABN form. The ABN form may be used to transfer potential financial liability to the patient when Medicare payment is expected to be denied for services rendered to Medicare Part B beneficiaries.
