I’ve been reading album reviews since I worked at a newsstand and office supply store in high school. Today I still get a monthly from the UK and go straight to the reviews. I’ve discovered more music that I’ll listen to over and over from a quality review than any playlist. Over the the last decade or so it seems like everything is four out of five stars or 7 or 8 out of 10 on that point scale. So I’ve sought out blogs again that don’t score reviews because more often than not there’s a love of music and an attempt at honest evaluation there. I can spot AI writing too… These two reviews are not that. They’ve taken the time to really listen. I’m grateful for the positive responses to New Scrolls from Obscure Sound and The Sounds Won't Stop !
