Here’s a look at a couple pairs of earrings I have in the works. 👀 I recently got my latest order of artisan made decoupage wooden beads. 💎 As I laid them out on my beading table, I decided to pair both the moths and the butterflies 🦋 with these pretty false pearl flowers. 🌷 Keep an eye out for the finished pairs and you can let me know which you like better. 😉

🪸 🧜🏾‍♀️ Calling all mermaids!! 🧜🏾‍♀️ 🪸

I love when a pair takes on a life of their own!! These started out as just the green glass teardrops and the silver metal shell beads. I thought they were going to be a simple little pair. I had “a tiny drop in the ocean” in mind as inspiration. But, if you’ve been following along for a while now and know my creative style, you know that more often than not “simple” isn’t usually what we end up with.

I started out by adding different combinations of natural material beads like wood and bone. And then I wanted to add a pop of green for color. But I couldn’t settle on a single combo and half jokingly thought to myself “f*ck it, I’m just going to add all the beads,” and started stacking things and moving them around until I had two similar, but different earrings. Turns out, even then, I wasn’t finished. They had taken on a sort of beach scavenger or mermaid’s collection vibe and I wanted to add just a bit more. So out came the chain and faux pearl drops with rhinestones I had leftover from some custom wedding jewelry I previously made for a customer.

And here you have it - amazing asymmetrical earrings brimming with mermaid treasures!!

👋🏽 Hello July - we’re half way through the year 🗓️ and right smack in the middle of a heat wave!! 🥵 How’s everyone holding up? ⬆️ Personally, I’d choose this heat every time ⏰ over it being so cold that our indoor pipes freeze over. ❄️ Hope you’re beating the heat - whether it’s by staying in the ac, taking a dip in a 💦 pool, or cooling off with your favorite frozen treat. 🍦
