Yo soy Vanessa Hernandez (‘20) and I have the privilege of being the Alumni Relations Chair for 2018-19 La Raza Law Students Association Board.

One of our Board’s goal is to continue to change what it means to be part of the La Raza family. Our mission is to ensure that all Berkeley Law La Raza graduates know and feel that they are always part of our La Raza familia, even beyond graduation. La Raza is a family you can count on long after you graduate. We are proud to say that we are a growing and thriving community that supports and empowers one another. The Alumni Chair position was just created last year, but as a student, I benefited so much from it. We were incredibly lucky to have Erika Hernandez (‘18) as the leader in this effort, and I am hoping to continue her legacy. As a current student, I am grateful for all the work that was done before us, academically, professionally and socially. My classmates and I often discussed how amazing it was to finally see our Latinx community in positions of power, to witness many of you being exactly the lawyer, but most importantly, the person we aspire to become. I am excited to work alongside you all to continue our effort to make Berkeley Law La Raza an even bigger and more united familia.
