Sometimes the hardest journey isn't traveling somewhere new.

It's finding your way back to yourself.

Many of us spend years carrying old patterns, unresolved experiences, and questions we can't quite put into words. We try to push through them, work around them, or ignore them, only to discover they're still quietly shaping our lives.

*Depth Hypnosis: A Path to Healing, Power, and Transformation* explores another possibility.

Rather than asking us to escape discomfort, it invites us to meet it with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to understand what lies beneath the surface. Drawing from decades of clinical practice and the wisdom of multiple contemplative traditions, the book offers a path toward greater self-awareness, authentic power, and lasting transformation.

Whether you're a practitioner, a student, or simply someone asking deeper questions about your own life, we hope these pages serve as a meaningful companion on your journey.

Healing begins with the courage to look within.

Perhaps the bee wasn't confused at all. Perhaps the beauty you overlook is simply more obvious to the rest of the living world.

It is definitely a heart warming moment.

Kindness is one of the simplest ways we remember our connection to one another. A small gesture, a thoughtful word, a moment of patience can brighten a day far beyond what we ever see.

His teachings, humor, friendship, and boundless curiosity touched our students, our teachers, and our community in ways that are difficult to fully express. With deep sadness, we honor the passing of Robert A.F. Thurman, our dear friend Bob.

For nearly two decades, Bob was a cherished member of the extended Sacred Stream community. He taught alongside Isa Gucciardi at retreats, conferences, workshops, and gatherings, helping generations of students encounter the depth, humor, and transformative power of Buddhist philosophy. His brilliance as a scholar was legendary, but those of us who had the privilege of knowing him will remember something equally important: his warmth, his generosity, his curiosity, and his unmistakable joy.

Bob had a rare gift. He could illuminate the most profound teachings while making an entire room burst into laughter. He invited people into wisdom rather than placing it beyond reach. Through his teachings, conversations, and friendship, he encouraged us to engage life more fully, more compassionately, and more courageously.

Many within our community know Bob through the classes he and Isa taught together over the years, exploring subjects ranging from the Sacred Feminine and Tara to non-duality, compassion, consciousness, and the transformative potential of Buddhist practice. Their friendship was rooted in a shared commitment to awakening, service, and the belief that wisdom must be lived, not merely studied.

One of Bob's observations that has stayed with us over the years was his simple statement that "Buddhism is realism." He encouraged us not to turn away from suffering, change, or uncertainty, but to meet life exactly as it is, with clarity, compassion, and equanimity.

Today, as we reflect on his passing, we are reminded of the Buddhist teachings on impermanence that he dedicated his life to sharing. While we grieve this tremendous loss, we are also filled with gratitude for the immeasurable gifts he offered to our community and to the world.

Our hearts are with his family, his friends, the Tibet House US community, and the many students whose lives were touched by his wisdom.

Thank you, Bob.

May your journey be filled with light.
