Please Join me Sunday, July 16th for a relaxing Mindfulness and Somatic retreat.
Becoming Known: Nature Retreat. Join me in Tilden Park near Berkeley, Ca to connect more deeply with yourself and others in order to reduce Ordinary Loneliness. Being outside in nature is so healing and can add an impactful dimension to the practices that I teach in the Practices to Soothe Ordinary Loneliness workshop that is profound. I am excited to move this work outside this summer! In this workshop I will expand upon the practices I share in my monthly workshop, grounded in the concepts of Let Be, Let Go and Let in. We will have the opportunity to connect in person and build community, in addition to showing up and Becoming Known more deeply to yourself and by others. There will be a maximum capacity of 25 for this event, so please register early! NO experience with Mindfulness or Somatic techniques is necessary!
You can find out more and register at my Meet Up group:

As someone who in previous periods poo-pooed the idea of gratitude being a salve to pain, I resonated with this article very much.
"Like mindfulness and other similar wellness practices that are supposed to make us happier and healthier, gratitude can seem like one more “should” that is totally out of reach when we’re in the doldrums. Depending on the culture we grew up in, expressing gratitude may even make us feel more sad and guilty. For those of us languishers who can’t bear to be told one more time to count our blessings, is there anything of value here? What exactly does gratitude do for us?"

Usually we go about life without stopping and noticing the good stuff. It passes and we move forward. But what if you could create more good feelings in your life by actually stopping and FEELING the good feelings as you experience them in life. Read more on my blog about the benefits that neuroscience has demonstrated this has and how to do it more!
Mindfulness for loneliness — Fanshen Thompson, LCSW Expanding and marinating in moments that feel good can actually create more moments that feel good. It’s a positive vicious cycle.
