California Goldenrod is a monarch butterfly favorite! Blooming July through November, this plant helps fuel monarch migration on their journey south. Fall blooming plants are so important for these iconic pollinators!

California Goldenrod (Solidago velutina ssp. californica) can be found right here in the Bay Area, and is a great addition to your pollinator garden. 🦋🐛

I had a lot of fun drawing this one, and am planning on including this illustration in my calendar I’m slowly making! Each month will have a California native flower that blooms that month. 💚

California Pipevine Swallowtails are only found here in California and have only one host plant: Aristolochia californica aka Dutchman’s Pipe. If you have this plant, you’ll know it can be tricky to establish but once it gets going it is vigorous! 🌱

Did you know that a group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope? Well, you’ll have a kaleidoscope of butterflies in your garden once the Pipevine Swallowtails find this plant. 🦋🦋🦋
