This quilt is a special gift for a soon-to-be mom as she welcomes her second baby boy very soon. I was given the freedom to create with a mix of treasured scrappy fabrics I had been saving for just the right project. To make it even more meaningful, I incorporated a few pieces from her late grandfather’s dress shirts, so that a part of his memory can be wrapped around them with love for years to come.

Pattern: Pointless by Running Doe Quilts

My son asked me to make a quilt for his 5th grade homeroom teacher. He asked for a quilt pattern that “looked like a teacher”. So I researched and gave him some options. I was a little hesitant of the pattern he chose at first. Then, I started working on it - and really liked it. Now that it is finished - I love it! When I showed my son the finished product he said, “OH! She’s going to LOVE it!”. Wonderful!

We all know that teachers definitely doing get paid enough to do the jobs they do and make the difference they make in our children’s lives. So hopefully getting a handmade gift that she can use for a long time will let her know how much we appreciate her influence she has had on our son.

Love Drop Quilt. 💙 Pattern by . I used a variety of blue fabrics because blue is my mom’s favorite color. All fabrics are from my stash and used 2 different well loved sheets for the backing. Incredibly soft! I dropped off the quilt with my mom and she said she was going to show it off to the girls at her assisted living facility.
