We are welcoming in July, and with the start of a new month means a new horse to get to know☀️🐴❄️
This month you can expect to see a lot of Griffin, a very friendly 4 year-old Norwegian Fjord gelding that is in for training. I’ve never had a Fjord in the barn before, so I’m especially excited for this opportunity to enjoy learning about a new breed and everything he’ll have to teach me along the way.
One of my lesson kiddos was also very quick to remind me that Fjords are in the movie *Frozen*... which may be my favorite introduction to a new training horse yet😂
Over the next several weeks, we’ll be focusing on building communication, confidence, and practical skills to help prepare Griffin for many successful miles and afventures with his family.
Welcome to the barn, Griffin, Sage (Wiltse) Rasmussen & Ronda Wiltse 🤍

Feeling so grateful for all the good amidst the chaos. I am surrounded daily by animals & humans eager to learn together❤️
Warrior’s injury sure put a ripple in my plans for this summer, (hence why I never put out another availability post for June, I have been really testing everyone’s new roles out before wanting to add any new clients into the mix), and my other horses have truly stepped up to the plate when I’ve needed them most.
As we move towards the end of June, being in the mountains is on my mind, but not something I’ll be adding back into my services at this time. I am still working to find a good fit for insurance that will cover my liability off-property. It is something that I have on my list of goals for the future.
I am open for on-property lessons and trail rides, I have open spots for horse training or consignment in August & September, & am really enjoying busy season so far.
If you’re interested in getting in the saddle this summer, please reach out to me via email [email protected] or the contact form on my website❤️

Hello June, we have certainly missed you☀️
Smokey is not afraid to advocate for himself during pony boot camp, he has a mind of his on, that FOR sure 🤣
Have some things in the works for Mr. Smokey this month that I am really excited about 👀🤞🏻
A daily conversation with Trace 🤣
Because there’s nothing worse than stopping at your local Chick-fil-a for a treat after a long day & having your horse demand to get out as soon as the truck stops🫡🤣
jk jk, but really, building tolerance and patience in the trailer is an art, not a science.
What are some things you do to make the trailer a more relaxing space for your horse? Would love to know⬇️
straight from the horses’ mouth…👀🤫
except they ARE working & teaching lessons again, don’t let them totally lie to you😉😂
I have 1 more opening for lesson clients in May & 2 for June, if you’d like to come “work” with us!💃❤️

Officially one week into spring foundation work for these two boys, and they’ve already come so far🌱🐴
Trace, the black Quarter Pony, is a therapy pony at and also doubles as a rodeo pony. He’ll be with me through the end of May while we focus on boundaries, consistency, and sharpening up the fundamentals for all the different jobs he does at home!
Cinder, the red roan Quarter Horse/Cowhorse gelding, will be here through June getting a solid foundation put underneath him. He is trail partner & has so much potential, a kind personality, and has already started settling into the routine so well.
Both boys are around 7 years old, learning something new every day, and have already become fast friends. They each have their own goals and areas we’re working on, and I’m excited to keep sharing their progress and growth along the way.
A huge thank you to both of their owners for trusting me with these horses and allowing me to be part of their journey, it means more than I can say❤️

Meet Smokey ✨
I picked up this sweet pony at the request of his previous owners to help find him a new home (& a job!) after some fencing challenges (a little food FOMO included).
He’s grade and approximately 9 years old, likely somewhere along the Mini/Shetland spectrum. He’s lived with horses and goats, enjoys getting out on the trail, and packing a might just be his calling.
He’s also extremely friendly… which can sometimes come with a little pushy. So far, he’s settling in really well here at GWC and already adding a lot of laughter just watching him in the herd 🥹
I’ll be putting some time into him this spring, learning what he enjoys, and he’ll eventually be listed for sale.
For now, he’ll also be part of my groundwork lessons—perfect for those wanting to build confidence and refine the basics without intimidation.
Also very curious to see what color he sheds out to be… it’s been fun guessing with you all so far 🤪🤞🏻
