This is so awesome!

It’s fairly well known that I just kind of fell into this ‘art’ lark without any thought.

In fact, I’d never really had any interest in art or drawing before I posted that first picture of Narla to my mates as a joke on Facebook back in the summer of 2020.

So it blows my tiny mind when I hear that kids have been learning about me in their art classes at school. Even more so when I hear that those kids are on the other side of the planet in California!

But that’s exactly what Ms. Easson’s 1st Grade Class have done at Cardiff School in Cardiff By The Sea, California. They’ve learnt about some fella in the UK who draws rubbish pet portraits from his dining room table.

And these were their attempts at drawing their own pet portraits which, I must say, are bloody good and gave me a very big smile.

I hope that they also learnt about the reason WHY I draw these pet portraits, and how we can all do something to try to put some good into the world, no matter how small it might seem.

So thank you to Ms Easson for sharing these amazing pictures with me, and thank you to the children for creating them.

If my old school’s art teacher could see me now, they’d probably wonder who the hell I was because I didn’t do art at school…..
