Have a new puppy that could use some socialization and training? We are rolling out a test run of our Play & Learn program that we offer at our Pdx business, now here in Bend! The first offering will be this coming Friday, 8/29, with pick up between 8-9am. Puppies will receive 2.5 hours of socialization with other pups, introduction to novel sights and sounds and focused training on basic skills. Cost is $125/session. What are your favorite snow activities or places to go with your dog on snow days?

Also- these photos were taken at - for those who haven’t been there, they are worth checking out! Their patio is pretty secluded too so can be an easier place to practice settling with your dog. They also have amazing craft cocktails and apps if you need to start with a shorter outing instead of a full meal.
Tips to help:
1) Whether you’re at home or out at a restaurant, starting with your dog on leash will help keep them close so you’re able to give them feedback.
2) Pick a location away from too many distractions.
3) Initially, ask them to lie down. Continue to reward them for lying down or any movement towards more relaxation.
4) Praise them anytime a noise or distraction happens that you think would be enticing to grab their attention.
5) Keep rewarding them anytime they lie down or look relaxed and comfortable.
6) Keep the practice/outing short enough that they can be successful.
