Hello from Hive and thank you for following! Many/most of you know me as a founder of Kôr Community Land Trust. I created Kor, after earning my degree in Energy Systems Engineering from OSU-Cascades, out of a passion for sustainability, energy efficiency, and the opportunity to own a home. This is the driving force behind Hive as well. So, why switch to a for profit model? What is on the horizon for Hive? How can we address the housing challenge by getting more conventional (for profit) developers on board? Why is this so meaningful to me and so crucial to our community? Why does our community need to target outreach to those who have been historically shut out of ownership? Why can a for profit organization never be a community land trust?
