Tomato Warning!!!!

(For some reason my oldest say Tomato instead of Tornado :D )

Last night I planned on getting the kids to bed, taking a shower, reading a book, and working on a sales lead.

However, right as I went to get my two oldest children ready for bed the storm decided to hit here. I know they aren't going to sleep with the thunder so we played a few games waiting for it to pass.

When I thought it was safe to lay them down my husband's phone started blowing up with alerts. Why I didn't get any?? I can only assume the National Weather Service wants me to die.

I could tell how nervous my daughter was so we decided to lay in my bed together and watch the local weather. She had so many questions and once I finally convinced her that it wasn't near us and the thunder that shook the house stopped it was finally time to lay them down.

I get them to sleep and get back to my room with still needing to read my book and work on the sales prospect but it's 11pm and there's no way I am going to be putting in quality work at that time.

I decided to get to sleep and try to wake up a little earlier this morning.

Then 3am comes with another rafter rattling thunder and a little girl scaring the life out of me looking at me while I am sleeping.

She said, "I am sorry I scared you but - I'M FREAKING OUT!!!" I won't lie, that made me snort with laughter. She is so precious.

So I go make myself comfortable on her floor as I hear my son come down the hall, I call him into the room and he lays down with me.

5:30 am came a little earlier than normal today, my back hurts, I am pretty sure I have a blackeye from my son's hard head hitting me while sleeping, and I've started the day behind.

You know what though!! I wouldn't trade last night for anything, being able to comfort my children and being able to show them my love for them and the ability to know they are safe with me there.

I can always make up the time I lost for work and self-improvement last night but I would never get that time back with my kids.

You can always make sacrifices to get back on track with work but don't miss those little fleeting moments with your kids!
