The RAP SHEET Podcast.
On June 28th, 2020 Mark & Patricia McCloskey pointed guns and yelled at peaceful protesters marching through the private neighborhood, Some of the protesters yelled back. In 2021 almost a year later both pled guilty to misdemeanor offenses resulting in 2,750 worth of fines and their guns to be surrendered and destroyed. Governor Mike Parson pardoned both people.
The DNA evidence and new analysis suggested that another man was a suspect. The DNA didn't match that of Williams. In June of 2023 the above mentioned Governor decided to dissolve the panel of five judges without receiving their report and lifted the stay of Williams' ex*****on as he claimed it was time for the court to make a decision.
August 21st, 2024 The Missouri Supreme Court blocked the plea deal agreement thus keeping 9.24.2024 as the scheduled ex*****on date. Literally hours before the ex*****on Gov. Mike denied Williams clemency, Supreme court denied halting the ex*****on (although Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketani Brown Jackson stated they would have granted the request.
Williams was executed today at 6PM by lethal injection. I follow these types of cases on the regular and I really having a difficult time accepting the injustice that happened tonight. Mike Parson can pardoned someone for pulling out guns on innocent protesters, order them to pay a fine and have their guns surrendered and destroyed BUT a man who's DNA didn't match who's ex*****on was stayed by former Governor Eric Greitens cause he and so many others saw that their was evidence stating he was wrongly convicted, sentence and ultimately executed.
This is what injustice looks like.
