The Violet Valentine

Finished my last piece (the laundry one) and decided it would be better to finish something else instead of starting something new. Yay me.

This piece has been in hibernation for…..maybe 3 years? 😬 Embarrassing. I remember putting it in timeout after I realized I miscounted & needed to rip out a section. Looking at it the other day I realized it wouldn’t take much to finish it. So I’ve been stitching on it a little each day & I’m getting close.

Now, which ancient to pull out next?

Having a quiet stitching day, the 3 of us together in our living room 💕 This was going to be a Christmas gift, but I didn’t finish it in time. It’s very close to being finished though, so I’m working on it with the hopes of starting 2026 fresh, with a good plan.

We are having a very quiet Christmas since all of us are sick this year. So I’m working on this project a bit, then we’ll have Swedish meatballs & watch a Christmas movie as a family. I am actually happy to have a quiet Christmas this year. Though some snow would have been a lovely addition!

Every morning & every evening I go out & look for new blooms & I marvel at how something so simple can make me so utterly happy. It’s been a lifelong “someday” wish to grow my own dahlias & now I never want to stop 💕
