Cafe Akroteri

in , June 10, 1949 the Pastime Cocktail Lounge opened, making it Bellingham's second legal cocktail lounge to open after the Leopold Hotel's "Pioneer Room" its across-the-street neighbor on Cornwall Ave.
The Pastime started out as a Cigar Shop and Pool Room during the prohibition era. After prohibition ended the Pastime moved to Cornwall Avenue, first occupying the neighboring building and shortly after moving into the one pictured where it remained through the 1960s. The Pastime was a "beer parlor" and cafe until Washington voters approved the sale of liquor by the glass in November 1948. Today the building is home to Cafe Akroteri. Cafe Akroteri
