We recently learned of the unfortunate closure of the Save This Life microchip company, and owners of cats or dogs that have microchips of their pets registered with this company need to take action to register their chips with another company. This will assure that if their pets are lost, these chips can be scanned and used to return them to their owners.

If you don’t know which company your pet’s microchip is registered with, you can have it scanned by your veterinarian or check the American Animal Hospital Association’s microchip lookup tool using your pet’s microchip number at: https://hubs.la/Q0381gmJ0

It is important to make sure that your pet’s microchip is registered and that your contact information is up to date. If your pet is ever lost, they will be scanned by a shelter or veterinarian for a microchip. The microchip ID number will lead to a registry with your contact information that can be used to reunite you with your pet.
