I can’t even express how grateful I am to all who showed up to my 25th Birthday Yule celebration🙌😭❤️ It was one of, if not THE best birthday I’ve ever had!!

If you don’t know what Yule is, it’s the celebration of the winter solstice and where much of our Christmas traditions stem from. I LOVE Yule and my birthday is close to Yule so this is the second year I’ve combined them into one party

🛥️ We watched the community holiday boat parade which was right outside our door step.

🎶 We sang a traditional Waissail, classic carols, and everyone sang along to an original carol I wrote called “Cold Heart Warm” (I added a clip of it in this post).

🐗 We shared our New Year’s resolutions as we passed around and smashed a peppermint pig with a hammer (to represent the old Norse atonement boar).

🔥 And finally, we wrote our New Year’s resolutions on paper, rolled them up, added them to our wishing pinecone, and lit the pinecone on FIRE

I was so overwhelmed by the love from everyone there and I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Big thanks to my love for helping me put everything together ❤️🌲

I went on a guided scorpion hike at Lost Dutchman State Park in the Superstitions tonight! 🦂 🏜️

In total, the group found 18 scorpions! 😱 Apparently the last scorpion hike only found 2 scorpions, so we were pretty lucky.

I found the very first scorpion of the night 🏆 Most of them were smaller but we did find two large ones.

Beyond hunting for scorpions, I loved star gazing for a bit at the end and seeing the beautiful silhouette of the mountains. 🌌
