This one is a shout-out to all the new home builders and contractors out there...PLEASE stop installing downspouts that stop short and drain onto roof surfaces below. It’s a faulty design that only serves a cosmetic purpose. Do the home owner (and the home you built) a favor, run it to the lower gutter and paint it black, or brown, or whatever color the roof is if you’re worried about looks. It’s the functional homes that are worth the most money, not the prettiest. A pre-mature roof leak will only cost the home owner more money. This home was only one year old and there’s already green algae growing on the shingles.
