Common Good Church

Today is Good Friday, a day to reflect on the significance of the crucifixion and the death of Jesus Christ on a cross. We invite you to join us tonight for a special in-person only reflective Good Friday worship experience at 4 Tomorrow’s Safe Parking “Living Room” with doors opening at 7pm.
As this will be a self-guided, interactive experience, you are welcome to drop in anytime between 7pm and 8:30pm for a time of reflection and prayer as you journey through the Stations of the Cross. Traditionally depicted in a series of fourteen images, the Stations highlight pivotal moments in Jesus’ final hours leading up to his ex*****on. We’ll be displaying a powerful version of the Stations of the Cross, artwork painted by men on Tennessee’s death row—who, while awaiting their own ex*****on, contemplated and depicted the state-sanctioned ex*****on of Jesus. A digital guide will be available to help you (and your children, if applicable) walk through the stations at your own pace. Learn more at link in bio.

At the start of every year, we embark on a 21 day prayer & fasting journey as a community with the intention of centering and aligning ourselves, both individually and collectively, with God. In doing so, our hope is that we would catch a God-shaped vision for ourselves, for our community, and for the world around us.
Join us on the journey at commongood.church/21days and download our Common Good app for our Daily Prayer Guide.

Day 1: Believing for More
Have you ever felt stuck? Perhaps it’s a certain situation or set of circumstances you find yourself in that have resulted in you feeling as if the way things are now, are just the way things will always be. It’s especially in those seasons, where it’s easy to look around at the current circumstances of life and to give up hoping and believing that more is possible.
What might it look like for you to give yourself permission to believe again? To allow yourself to hope that in 2025, things might and can be different and look different? To have conviction that God might have more in store for you than what your present circumstances have led you to believe?
Scripture reminds us that “faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” This is what it means to be a person of faith. This is what it means to be Christian. That in spite of our current reality or the realities around us that can be seen, we hold on to a confidence and an assurance in a God who loves us, is with us and always wants more for us. And we put our faith, trust and hope in a God who desires that all would flourish.
May these next 21 days be an invitation for you to give yourself permission to hope and believe that more is possible — for ourselves, for our communities, and for the world around us.
oming year.
Prayer: God, would you awaken within me a capacity to believe again. Would you give me the courage and confidence to trust that you want more for me and for those around me. Amen.
