✍️I’ve had a penpal at many times in my life, but never expected to have one now. I met John when we were both working in Anchorage, AK circa 2015. He was phasing out of retirement after building a successful practice in Maine by moonlighting in Alaska and I was serving as the medical director of a sleep lab at the same neurology clinic where he worked. John graduated in the same medical school class as Anthony Fauci and is passionate about concussion and sports neurology. We spent many evenings after work exploring all of the breweries in Anchorage. And even though I don’t like beer, he has such a curious and fun disposition, I was always up for tagging along. Over the years we have both had ups and downs including the passing of his amazing wife. They don’t make them like this anymore.
