Did you know the Mitchell Fire Department has a junior firefighter program?

We have a great group of dedicated junior firefighters!

Our junior firefighters assist senior firefighters at other community events and training events throughout the year.

As junior firefighters of the MFD, young men and women learn the skills and values associated with the long standing tradition of junior firefighters.

If you're 15-17 years of age and live in the MFD area or have a teenager that wants to do something with the community, come down and meet these young heroes and learn about what they do.

Stop by the firehouse (Station #1 or Station #2) on Wednesday evenings from 6pm-8pm for further details or call the station Mon- Fri 7am- 3pm.

The struggle of being an insurance agent at a summer BBQ is real. 🌭

I promise I’m here for the burgers and the good company, but my "safety radar" has a mind of its own! While everyone else is eyeing the potato salad, I’m over here subtly checking if that grill is a safe distance from the house. And don't even get me started on the trampoline without a net in the corner: my heart skips a beat for all the wrong reasons! 😉

In all seriousness, I love being part of this community and seeing everyone enjoying the sunshine. It’s just hard to turn off the part of my brain that wants to make sure my neighbors are always protected.
