📚 Summer updates from the Webb Library:

This summer, we are making several adjustments to both our collections and learning spaces in response to evolving student needs and program growth.

We are reworking the fiction collection into 10 genre-based sections to improve access and make it easier for students to locate books by interest area. These categories will include fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, mystery, and an even a boarding school fiction section.

📖 We are also organizing several Webb School “signature program” collections aligned with academic and co-curricular areas, including:

• Leadership
• WILD & outdoor learning
• Health & Human Performance
• Speech & Emerging Voices
• Aviation & flight studies

The aviation collection will also incorporate a donated model airplane collection from Emily Reece Hunton’s father, representing aircraft from World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

🤫 In addition, we are exploring the development of a designated quiet zone within the library, including reservable study carrels intended for focused academic work.

These projects are part of ongoing work to align the library space and collections more closely with instructional programs and student use.

FINALS WEEK SURVIVAL CHECKLIST

Before you open 15 open tabs and spiral into a study panic, take a deep breath. Here is your official game plan to ace your finals without burning out:

🗓️ Prioritize Your Grid: Not all finals are created equal. Look at your grades and the weight of each exam. Spend extra time on the subjects that challenge you the most, and tackle those first while your brain is fresh.
⏱️ The 25/5 Method (Pomodoro): Don’t try to study for four hours straight. Set a timer for 25 minutes of absolute focus (phone in the other room!), then take a 5-minute break to stretch, grab a snack, or touch grass.
🧠 Test Yourself First: Reading notes over and over is passive. Hide your notes and try to write down everything you remember on a blank sheet of paper, or use practice questions from your past quizzes.
🎒 Prep the Night Before: Don’t spend the morning of a big exam frantically hunting for your calculator or laptop charger. Pack your bag the night before so your morning is completely stress-free.
💤 Protect Your Sleep: All-nighters actually ruin your brain’s ability to recall information under pressure. Your brain needs sleep to process everything you learned during the day.

Tag a friend who needs a little motivation to start studying today! 🚀👇 Remember the library 📚 is here for you!
