This whimsical door in our outdoor therapy area got me thinking recently about the courage it takes to try something new.
Starting therapy can feel like opening a door you’ve never opened before. There’s often a pause. A hesitation. Maybe even a fear of what might be waiting on the other side.
Taking that first step into the unknown is incredibly brave — and we’ve got your back.

We had a BLAST at the ASOS 24th annual autism walk! We have said it before and we will say it again. Autism “awareness” is never enough. Autistic people are an important and deeply cherished part of our community. We need to continue to dismantle ableism in our environments so that neurodivergent people are afforded the same freedom as allistic folks. Autistic kids and grown ups deserve to feel seen and celebrated. We want to see ALL neurodivergent people THRIVE. 🌈

“Ahhhhh SO MANY WAYS. :) Some of the easiest ways I play on a daily basis look like this: finding a really cool stick at the park and pretending it’s a wand. Keeping little trinkets in my pockets and handing them out to strangers. Assembling little fairy houses outside and wondering which fairy house I would most like to live in. Finding the whimsy in every day allows for play to be the heartbeat of my life.” - Mick James
