Here’s how to write GREAT copy.

Stop automating whack copy.

It’s insulting to who you're writing to and annoys just about everyone.

If u read your message out loud before you send it and it sounds dumb, it's cause you wrote something you would never actually say.

If it sounds natural and the dude next to you at the coffee shop doesn't move seats, it might not be that bad. Send it.

But if you think about what automation actually is, it's just automating messages you think you'll wanna send in the future, and doing it from different mediums in bulk. But if you don’t know what to say, ur just gonna eyeroll people to death with flavorless words in a big way.

Quality matters but if the harder u try to sound qualified the more boring the copy gets, then go ahead and sound unqualified. At least people'll read it.

Make mistakes. Stop using custom fields just cause they exist. Just say what you wanna say. Nobody says "worth a chat?" "bumping this up" in person.

VOMIT.

GROSS.

Stop using custom values everywhere.

Just because you CAN say someone’s name in GHL doesn’t mean you SHOULD.

Nobody says

“Hi Jane. It’s Greg from Nonstop Automation. It's Wednesday at 3pm EST. Please let me know a good time to meet.”

U just say

“When we meeting?”

No footer.

Just a normal sentence.

Write like you talk.
