Bay Ratz Marching Battery

Saturday we gathered at the 100 Man Hall to hang out with friends and family of the drumline. Walfredo Reyes joined us for the second year in a row! This is our chance to say thank you to the parents who keep bringing us their kids despite the never ending "tap tap tap". Also we had the opportunity to say thank you to the local groups and individuals who work so hard to fund the drumline. BSL Rotary, BSL Rotary satellite, Krewe of Seahorse, Krewe of Nereids, Krewe of Real People, BSL Running Company, Good Earth Records, Driftwood Motel, Mocking Bird Cafe, Carnival Association of Long Beach, Pass Christian St. Patricks Day folks, The Boys and Girls Club, The Arts of Hancock County. And so many individuals who generously donate their time and money. I'm sure I've failed to acknowledge everyone but please know how grateful we are for your support.
Walfredo said it best when he reminded us of the massive cuts to funding in the arts and the importance of this program and the opportunity for kids to be exposed to music. The drumline is free for the kids but definitely not free to operate. We thank each and everyone that supports these kids. They're worth it!
