From English class to closing day. 📓➡️🏡

So, here’s a fun story.

Derek was Brooke’s 8th grade English teacher (already a legend in our house!). A few years ago, I helped him and Caroline find a townhouse to rent.

Jump forward to March 2025, and I got an email with the subject line: “The Wheelers Are Ready to Buy a House!”

They were already preapproved & knew their budget, so we started our search. The first weekend we toured 3 homes with no luck. Two weeks later in raincoats & umbrellas, we toured 6 houses and found this gem.

We made an offer and began the usual dance of negotiations and inspections. The repair list was longer than expected (new roof, anyone?), so we hit pause to explore other options… but nothing else felt quite right.

The sellers agreed to the repairs, and today - after a few hurdles and a whole lot of patience - they officially closed on their first home. 🎉

So happy for this sweet couple and honored to have played a part as they start their next chapter! 🏠❤️

82 days. That’s all it took from the first message Hunter sent me to closing day — but those 82 days were full of decisions, pivots, and a whole lot of patience.

Hunter, Lauren, and Millie the Mini-schnauzer, my sweet neighbors who live a few doors down, were ready for their next chapter: a home with room to grow.

The challenge: finding a house that checked all of the boxes before summer.

Challenge accepted.

We found a house almost immediately, toured it, and had an offer accepted—only to realize it would entail a few more projects than they could tackle with a baby on the way.

So, we reset.

I fine-tuned their search and kept an eye on anything that matched their wish list. Three weeks later, on a random Thursday afternoon, a new listing hit my inbox—and within hours, we were inside. By Sunday, Hunter & Lauren were under contract for a house that had me feeling a little green with envy. 🤩

Through inspections, negotiations, and all the home buying feels, I got to walk alongside them every step of the way.

And now, just 82 days after that first message, they’ve got the keys to their new home—and a beautiful space to welcome their little one (and for Millie to claim the backyard as her own).

Seeing these two stand on their new front porch, baby bump and all, reminds me why I do what I do.

Welcome home Hunter, Lauren, and Millie. Let the late‑night feedings, backyard zoomies, and happily‑ever‑after begin.
