Getting ready for a new school year? Several back-to-school events are happening throughout Baton Rouge tomorrow, Saturday, July 18! 🎒📚

District 7 Pack the Sack will be held from 10 AM–2 PM at the MLK Community Center, 4000 Gus Young Avenue.

The EBRPL Bookmobile will also be visiting back-to-school events across the community.

🌟 Louisiana Lions Camp Challenge still has open slots!

Know a child or teen living with a blood disorder — including sickle cell disease, cancer, or another hematologic condition? Camp Challenge is a FREE week-long overnight summer camp just for them (and their siblings, ages 5–15)!

📅 July 19th- 26th

🏕️ Campers swim, make art, play sports, perform, and most importantly — connect with other kids who get it. With 24/7 on-site medical staff, families can feel confident their child is safe and supported the whole time.

This is more than a summer camp. It's a place where kids belong.

Last Friday during Tool Time, our Level UP! Scholars participated in a mentor day at Allstate Insurance, hosted by bayoudreamsfoundation. Throughout the day, scholars learned about the insurance industry, explored career opportunities, and connected with professionals who shared their experiences, advice, and encouragement.

Founded by Allstate agent Rosalind Campbell, Bayou Dreams Foundation supports Big Buddy scholars as they transition from high school to college, career, and beyond through its scholarship program. We are grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to helping our youth achieve their goals.
