Ok, SG fam... a tropical depression has formed in the Gulf.

It's time to start paying attention.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical depression in the Gulf that is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Bertha. While this system is not currently expected to become a major hurricane, it has the potential to bring periods of heavy rainfall and localized flooding to south Louisiana over the next several days.
Now is the time to make sure you're prepared—not panicked.
✔️ Review your family's emergency plan.
✔️ Test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
✔️ Make sure your generator is fueled and ready to operate safely outside and away from doors and windows.
✔️ Secure loose outdoor items and clear storm drains around your home if it's safe to do so.
✔️ Keep an eye on trusted weather sources for the latest updates.

The St. George Fire Department is monitoring the forecast and stands ready to serve our community if needed.
A few minutes of preparation today can make a big difference tomorrow. Stay weather aware, St. George, and we'll keep you updated as conditions change.
