Today I turn 61.

Sixty-one years!

It’s amazing how your perspective changes with time. When you’re young, you think life is about getting somewhere, building a career, making money, buying things, proving yourself. As the years pass, you realize the things you chased were never the things that truly mattered.

Life isn’t measured by the number of birthdays you’ve celebrated. It’s measured by the lives you’ve touched, the lessons you’ve learned, the mistakes you’ve survived, and the people who chose to walk beside you through it all.

I’ve experienced incredible highs and some very dark valleys. I’ve learned that success doesn’t erase hardship, and hardship doesn’t prevent success. Every challenge has shaped me into the man I am today. Looking back, I wouldn’t erase the difficult chapters because they taught me the value of faith, perseverance, humility, and second chances.

As I begin my 61st year, my greatest wealth isn’t in my bank account. It’s in my family who has loved me through every season… my friends who have stood beside me… and my clients who have trusted me with their dogs and, in many cases, become lifelong friends. I never take that trust for granted.

To everyone who has encouraged me, challenged me, prayed for me, laughed with me, supported my business, or simply crossed paths with me, you have helped write my story. Thank you.

Another birthday is a reminder that time is our most valuable possession. We can’t earn more of it, buy more of it, or get it back once it’s gone. So I’m choosing to spend mine doing what matters most: loving my family, helping people, continuing to learn, building things that outlast me, and leaving the world one day just a little better than I found it.

To my wife, Holly, thank you for being my greatest blessing and my biggest supporter. I couldn’t imagine this journey without you.

Here’s to another year of faith, purpose, growth, laughter, and making every day count.
