Before he founded MMR Group and became a leader in the construction industry, James B. "Pepper" Rutland was making plays on the football field at LSU.
This throwback captures Pepper during his days as a Tiger—a reminder that leadership, determination, and teamwork often begin long before a successful career. His legacy continues to inspire both the construction industry and future generations of LSU Construction Management students.

This prestigious award, formerly known as the Award for Instructor Excellence, is presented annually by LSU’s College of Engineering. It honors faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to students’ early academic experiences through exceptional instruction in entry-level engineering courses. Dr. Delatte's dedication to teaching and commitment to student success make this recognition well deserved.
