BUILDING HEAT 🥵 - Don't be surprised to see heat advisories issued in the days ahead. Heat index values this weekend will be around 105-110 and potentially even higher next week! For now, we're keeping rain chances on the lower side.

TROPICS UPDATE - The National Hurricane Center has increased development odds to 30% over the northern Gulf as an area of low pressure is forecast to form this weekend.

The biggest change I’ve noticed isn’t actually the development odds - it’s that forecast guidance has continued trending farther west over the past 24 hours. If that trend continues, Louisiana could see higher rain chances next week, even if this never becomes an organized storm.

This system is expected to move very slowly, which means there will likely be plenty of forecast adjustments over the next few days.

Bottom line: I don’t expect a particularly strong system at this point, but it’s one we’ll be watching closely because it could bring higher rain chances to Louisiana next week.
