Meet this month's Member Spotlight, David Sevier!

For the past 3½ years, David Sevier has found more than just a place to work out at the YMCA—he's found a community. After retiring, David knew he wanted to stay active and connected. Having grown up at the Y, with a lifelong passion for fitness and coaching, joining the YMCA felt like the perfect fit for this new chapter.

Today, you'll often find David on the cardio equipment or striking up conversations with fellow members. He says the Y has helped him stay consistent with his health, build new friendships, and fully enjoy retirement.

When asked about his favorite Y memory, David doesn't hesitate to mention the friendly banter he shares with Mrs. Berdice at the front desk. Her quick wit, kindness, and welcoming smile make every visit a little brighter.

We're grateful to have members like David who make our Y community stronger every day!

A BIG thank you to our corporate partner, Dow Louisiana Operations, for creating an unforgettable hands-on STEM Day for our YMCA summer campers at the Dow Westside YMCA!

Campers had a blast making slime, learning about drones, touring a brand-new fire truck, and exploring even more exciting activities during the event. Experiences like these spark curiosity, build confidence, and show young people just how fun learning can be. We are grateful for the volunteers who shared their time, talents, and enthusiasm with our campers. Thank you for your partnership!
