👏 We love seeing our PhD students at work!

We are proud to highlight Catherine Rodriquez, a PhD student in Computer Science & Engineering, on her first publication, titled, “Co-Evolved Spiking Neural Network Ensembles via Marginal Contribution Fitness” 🎉

Catherine’s research explores new ways to make artificial intelligence more capable on extremely small, low-power devices by enabling networks to work together as specialized teams. Her work helps expand what is possible for resource-limited AI systems and opens new possibilities for future technologies that require efficient, low-power computing.

The student we are spotlighting is Keturah Green, another doctoral student from Manship School of Mass Communication, as she recently received a 2026 scholarship from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - Metropolitan Baton Rouge chapter!

Earlier this month, Keturah also participated in a Study Abroad opportunity to Cape Town, South Africa, where the mass communication program partnered with this year’s International Communication Association (ICA) conference.
