🌟Member Spotlight🌟 Today, we are sharing the work of Craig Fisher!
From Craig: Drawing has been my skill. In etchings, I saw a transformation take place that got me excited. Not only was the image reversed but the bite of the acid gave in a new tactical intensity. It’s as if a mysterious hand re-rendered the graphic, not always the way you had hoped, but always opening fresh opportunities. The etching medium technique has so very many variables. The strength of the acid , the moisture of the room the tack of the ink…the deftness of the printer’s wiping of the plate. There’s no doubt that a well-made ink jet print (on archival paperstock) looks every bit as “rich” as a hand-pulled etching, but I will bet that the signed etching has more spirit and character. It’s a combination of the studio chop mark, the artist’s signature (and the occasional misplaced thumbprint) which will mark that image as unique beyond its “limited edition”.
