: What is VPN? A VPN is a Virtual Private Network that lets you create a secure and private connection over a public network, like the internet. VPN establishes an encrypted tunnel between your device and a remote server operated by the VPN service provider. All data transmitted between your device and the VPN server is encrypted, ensuring that it remains secure and private from potential eavesdroppers.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a cooling system malfunction, resulting in a temporary outage of LSU Moodle system. Our hosting vendor’s infrastructure team has implemented several mitigation measures to stabilize the environment, and performance has returned to normal levels. All services are now functioning as expected.

ITS is aware of performance issues with Moodle. This is related to the Amazon outage that is impacting various services. We will continue to monitor the situation.
