Earlier this week, our team scored a huge victory for Louisiana workers and the environment. We argued and the Louisiana Supreme Court agreed that employers cannot fire or retaliate against an employee for refusing to violate environmental laws. As a result, employees do not have choose between breaking the law or losing their jobs. Meaning, they can refuse to pollute and keep their jobs! The Court also agreed with our argument that this protection applies to employees whose job duties include reporting environmental violations. We are so proud of the attorneys and staff members who have been working hard to protect our clients' rights, because sometimes these victories impact our whole community!
