🐾 Employee Spotlight & Farewell: Raine Zugel 🐾

This month, we're celebrating Veterinary Assistant Raine Zugel as she prepares for her next adventure!

Raine has been a valued member of the PetWellClinic-Highland Park team for more than a year. Before joining us, she worked in a variety of animal care roles, driven by a lifelong passion for helping animals and the people who love them. One of her favorite parts of the job has been building relationships with pet parents and helping keep their pets happy and healthy.

Recently, Raine graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art & Design and will soon begin a new role with a local photography studio. While we're sad to see her go, we're excited to see where this next chapter takes her!

When she's not working, Raine enjoys birding, wildlife photography, and spending time with her own pets—two cats and seven crested geckos.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Meet Alyssa! 🌟

We’re excited to officially congratulate Alyssa Ligon on earning her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology and stepping into her new role as Lead Technician at PetWellClinic-Highland Park! 🎉🐾

Alyssa’s journey into veterinary medicine started with a passion for animals at a young age. In fact, she says she’s been telling people she wanted to work in veterinary medicine since she was just 3 years old! After working at a boarding facility while entering vet tech school, she transitioned into clinical practice and has continued building her skills and knowledge every step of the way.

One of the things Alyssa loves most about being a veterinary technician is that every day is different and there is always something new to learn. That dedication to growth, combined with her compassion for pets and their families, makes her an incredible asset to our team.

Looking ahead, Alyssa hopes to help change the way people view veterinary medicine and serve as an example to other minority youth interested in careers in animal care and veterinary medicine. ❤️

When she’s not caring for patients, you can find her playing video games, shooting pool, spending time outdoors, or wishing she had the power of teleportation so she could skip Baton Rouge traffic altogether!

🐾 Furry Friend Feature 🐾

Everyone say hello to Delta! 💙 This adorable 3.5-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer is currently working her way through her Puppy Package at PetWellClinic-Highland Park.

The first few months of a puppy’s life are some of the most important when it comes to building a strong foundation for lifelong health. Puppy vaccine series help protect against serious and highly contagious diseases while their immune systems are still developing. 🐶💉

Delta’s parents are also keeping her protected on monthly prevention — which is especially important here in Louisiana, where heartworm disease and flea/tick exposure rates remain high year-round. Prevention is one of the easiest ways to protect your pup from dangerous (and costly) diseases before they ever become a problem. 🦟❤️
