We are beyond thrilled to be able to offer our readers the opportunity to get a fine- line literary tattoo done by in the comfort and relaxation of our cozy bookshop.

Get a new tattoo while you are surrounded by some of your favorite stories. Whether you are looking for a delicate dragon, a magical book, or maybe even an adorable teddy bear….this flash pop-up is for you! Tattoo artist extraordinaire, has put together a menu of fine-line, delicate, and small-to-medium options that celebrate the magic of all things books & reading.

How to book:
Check out your literary ink options on the flash sheet, including size and pricing options. If you see one you like, head to our website and follow the link to reserve your spot!

Spots are limited, and if they go fast, never fear….we are already planning future date options!

Story Time:
Last year’s Hot Art, Cool Night doubled as our Grand Re-Opening, and the night ended on a super special note when 2 customers got engaged in the bookshop. The moment was such a surprise, and it immediately created such a special memory for us.

Fast forward one year later, and last night these 2 special customers returned to the exact spot of their engagement, and snapped this picture celebrating their moment. (Their engagement picture is framed right behind them )

Nights like Mid City’s Hot Art, Cool
Night, and customers like J and S, keep us fueled and reminded of our “WHY” when it comes to our dreams for Red Stick Reads. ….& it goes well beyond just the business we are running. It’s the community we are working hard to build.

To get to be part of special moments in our customer’s lives ….an engagement, a birthday, a graduation, a new baby…..will be something we never take for granted. Building connections and building community is the Red Stick Reads dream, and we are honored to be able to do that.

Thank you to and to our AMAZING neighbors for putting on another beautiful night in our Mid City filled with art, music, food, and friends.

We love hosting local authors in the bookshop, and this Saturday we’ve got 2 fun ones lined up for our Red Stick Readers!

Keylonda Wheeler is back to join us for story time, and Angelle Terrell is returning for a book signing! Both authors have been with us before, but this will be their first time visiting us in our new space and we hope you’ll join us in giving them a very warm welcome back.

You can catch Keylonda from 11-1, with story time happening at 11:30am & Angelle will be signing books with us from 2-4pm.

Both authors will be sharing their newest books with us, and we hope to see you there!

Looking for a book to encourage your children or students that all brains are beautiful? Have a little one or big kid that is feeling overwhelmed by tangled thoughts or has challenges holding their focus? Let them know that they are not alone with this modern version of the tortoise and the hare!

Follow J.T. the Jet as she runs circles around her friends and family in J.T. Takes Her Time. Being the fastest kid around is what J.T. wants whether it be a running race, finishing her homework, or eating her lunch. But being the fastest around may not be in the cards for J.T. as she navigates learning to calm her mind and body so she can be the best J.T. possible.

While J.T. and her sister, Jaylin, are both neurodivergent characters, their family and community surround them with support and encouragement. Through daily positive affirmations, self-regulation breathwork, and a predictable routine, J.T.’s family champions her to work with her ADHD characteristics and imagine a future for herself beyond her wildest dreams!
