Is ABA therapy a related service?
No.
ABA is not a related service under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
However, if your child needs ABA therapy, Louisiana 2018 Act 696, allows private behavioral health providers to offer services in schools, requiring parental consent and responsibility for costs, while stipulating that these services must be provided in a way that serves the student's best interest. It is something we can pursue!
