Twin Maple Farms

We picked zucchini and radishes today.

Weekend update (one day late). With last weekend’s rain and Memorial Day on Monday, we at Twin Maple Farms had a short week. Tuesday, the ground was still too wet to “work”, but by late afternoon, we were able to transplant the current planting of cole crops, lettuce and onions. Wednesday, we were able to get back in the field planting soybeans. Good news, we finished planting soybeans Saturday. So now we are caught up with planting everything other than our weekly plantings of sweet corn, string beans, red beets, cabbage, etc. We were also able to start cultivating potatoes. We “hilled” the first potatoes. They are looking good. Yesterday we loaded a trailer of last year’s soybeans out of the bin. It’s ironic that we just finished planting soybeans and we still have last year’s crop still in the bin. We have to get that bin empty to make room because the wheat crop will soon have to go in there. Until next week, we at Twin Maple Farms want you to stay safe, healthy, and happy.
