Donate to Help Rebuild HipHen Uniques After Hurricane Helene, organized by Bat Cave Volunteers 07/03/2026

IT'S TIME TO REBUILD HipHen Uniques!!!

All GoFundMe donations go directly to rebuilding their shop in Bat Cave NC.

Our volunteers have said it is time for Mark and Lynette to rebuild HipHen Uniques . They have set up a GoFundMe account and are charging full steam ahead with fundraising!

No Bat Cave Disaster Relief funds or supplies are being used for the HipHen rebuild. Mark and Lynn are adamant on that.

So, the volunteers have started this separate fundraiser for them.

Follow them on thier page to watch thier progression from Hurricane Helene to thier current rebuilding efforts.

HipHen Uniques wasn’t just an antique store. It was a favorite stop for many who visited Bat Cave—full of history, laughter, friendship, and the warm spirit of its owners, Mark and Lynette Staton. The shelves were filled with rare treasures, but the real treasure was the couple who greeted everyone with kindness and care.

Then Hurricane Helene tore through our community. In a single night, everything the Statons had worked a lifetime to build was destroyed. Walls collapsed. Priceless pieces were ruined. Insurance claim denied. Their beloved store vanished under the force of the storm. What once was a vibrant, welcoming shop became a shell of broken wood and shattered glass. But even in the middle of their own heartbreak, Mark and Lynette made a choice that still inspires everyone around them. They put themselves last—and the community first.

From the wreckage of their store, they created the Bat Cave Disaster Relief Supply Hub, turning their personal loss into a lifeline for others. Instead of rebuilding their own dream, they focused on helping families who lost homes, belongings, and hope. Day after day, the Statons have organized supplies, comforted neighbors, and become a beacon of strength for anyone struggling to recover. Where HipHen Uniques once stood as a place of charm and nostalgia, it now stands as a symbol of sacrifice, resilience, and love for community.

But now they need our help. This GoFundMe is our chance to give back to two people who have given everything. Mark and Lynette deserve the opportunity to rebuild their business—the place that brought joy to so many and held memories for generations. Rebuilding HipHen Uniques is not just restoring a shop; it’s restoring a piece of Bat Cave’s heart. Your donation, no matter the size, is a piece of hope. It’s a message to Mark and Lynette that their kindness has not been forgotten. It’s a chance to help them rise from the very ground they stood on to lift others. Thank you for standing with them. Together, we can help bring HipHen Uniques back to life—and honor the extraordinary compassion the Statons have shown in our community’s darkest days.

So, how do y'all spend your days off? 🤔
Well... ours usually look a little different. Delivering materials, meeting folks for pick-ups and drop-offs, planning Wednesday's lunch menu, grocery shopping for food and snacks, prepping ingredients, and getting a head start on the cooking.
It may be our "day off," but serving our community never really takes one—and we wouldn't have it any other way.
A huge round of applause to all of our incredible volunteers and generous donors who make this possible. We truly couldn't do it without you.
Blessed with the best!
✌️❤️🦇
