FAMILY SHOWCASE:
Paul & Cammie Kelly /
1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible
“ Starting with a 100% stock Washington Blue 1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible, good friend to all, Billy Powell ( ) decided to hand it over to Dave Martinez ( ) in California for some custom touches. Windshield was chopped approximately 3” and Dave built one of his famous Carson Style soft tops. Dave also cleaned up some previous metal work and prepared the rear fenders for the flush 1939 Lincoln Zephyr skirts.
Suspension-wise the stock front axle and spindles were dropped 4” and spring reversed. The rear end is hung via reversed eye spring as well.
Power is delivered via stock rebuilt 221 Flathead with an offenhauser 2x2 intake topped by 2 stromberg 97s and Fenton headers.
Inside, Martinez stitched up Oxblood seats and Door Panels mixed with dark red velvet for the headliner and trim, and dash and interior pieces painted to match.
Other touches include National Flipper caps, 600-16 Firestone whitewalls, and a Columbia 2 Speed Rear end that was sourced and installed by the next owner Blake Burwell ( ).
The best thing- a Bermuda Bell mounted under the floor for dinging your way up the road. “
Thanks Paul for givin’ us the rundown on your fabulous ford. There’s been many of times that I wished my name was on the title. Come October I’m sure I will be dreamin’ again.

FAMILY SHOWCASE:
Brian Fluetsch /
1932 Ford Roadster
A few of our favorite people from the beautiful PNW is Brian & Val Fluetsch. Great family that have made the long trek to Bartlesville with a few different cars. We were thrilled to hear from Brian that he was making the trek back for Lucky #7, but what would he bring ? Brian started sending over a few pics of a deuce roadster that I hadn’t seen before.
" The car was built from one of the first body and chassis kits So Cal sold around 2006. It has a Tremec TKO Transmission, Curry rear end and a ZZ430 engine ( #267 out of the 430 that GM built). Larry Foss assembled the car and painted it. Holcomb upholstery did the leather two tone interior and it has a Sid Chavers Bop Top. The pin striping was done by Mitch Kim. Rich Staph was the original owner/builder and we basically got the car from him in 2013. We are excited to bring it to the ROC this year !“
