Rickhouse talk, but make it Potter Jane. 🥃

I sat down with and at to talk barrel aging, maturation, classic Kentucky rickhouses, palletized warehouses, and why where a barrel sleeps matters.

Jane spent years shaping blending, innovation, and maturation at Maker’s Mark, while Denny’s nearly three decades in whiskey include leadership roles at Heaven Hill, Maker’s Mark, and beyond. Now they’ve built Potter Jane Distilling in Springfield, KY with the kind of experience, humor, and honesty that makes this industry better.

Today I got to sit down with two people I have admired for years, and they were every bit as brilliant, funny, and full of personality as people think they are.

Thank you and for letting me behind the scenes at and giving me a front-row seat to the magic you’re building. The playful banter, the vision, the stories, and this stunning new distillery made for such a special day.

I cannot wait to see this episode of The Mash Bill Podcast come together. 🥃

Let me explain!

I have received an overwhelming number of messages about this video, so I wanted to take a second to clear things up and share the excitement.

of and of will be hosting a very special two-night event at The Parlor Room on 9/10 and 9/11.

This video was from our planning session, not a public experience. The actual event received incredible support and sold out in just two hours, before I even had the chance to make a public announcement.

To everyone who reached out hoping to attend, I truly am sorry. I wish I could fit you all in that room.

That said, I will have a 15-year Parlor Room barrel pick from each distillery available for sale at the event and immediately following it. So if you are in Bardstown for Bourbon Festival, make plans to stop by The Parlor Room.

Thank you all so much for the support. I do not take it lightly.

Next up on the gratitude tour is a woman that I never cease to admire and respect:

Stacey has been supportive of me since my days at My Old Kentucky Home, long before The Parlor Room was even a concept. She has watched me grow, cheered me on, attended several tasting events, and continued to share my content as I build this business one pour, one story, and one guest at a time.

That kind of support means more than people realize.

Stacey is one of those women who leads with heart, shows up for her community, and makes you feel like your work matters. I have always respected the way she represents Bardstown, but this past year made me even more grateful to know her personally.

And of course, the entire team deserves so much love too. They work every day to tell the story of this town, support local businesses, and remind the world why Bardstown is such a special place to visit.

Stacey, thank you for believing in me, sharing my work, showing up, and continuing to support this wild little dream of mine.

I am so grateful for you and the entire Visit Bardstown team.

Day two of celebrating one year of The Parlor Room belongs to

Crystal has shown up for me in every way this past year. She has personally attended so many events, sent guests through my door, helped me polish Glencarin glasses, and I cannot tell you how many people have said, “Crystal told us we had to come see you.”

That kind of support means everything.

Crystal is the kind of successful woman in bourbon I admire so much. She does not move up and close the door behind her. She holds it open and hopes all of us rise together.

And deserves so much love, too. Crystal and the Evergreen team have felt more like family than neighbors. CEO has been incredibly kind and supportive, and I could not want more success for all of them.

If you leave The Parlor Room and wonder where to go next, Evergreen is always my answer. Buy a bottle, enjoy a neat pour, ask Crystal a question, or just say hello to one of the best teams in Bardstown.

Crystal, thank you for showing up, speaking my name in rooms I was not in, and being the kind of woman who makes more space for the rest of us.

And thank you to Evergreen for the emergency orange loans, too—very important business support. 🥰🥃

Two years ago, I left my comfortable 9-to-5 to build a tasting experience that took guests beyond each pour.

What I quickly learned is that entrepreneurship is anything but easy. I leaned on relationships, especially The RickHouse, which helped carry me through that first year while I searched for, renovated, and opened a space of my own.

Slowly, people showed up. The word spread. This small dream became a destination for guests to connect with bourbon history, brands, and stories in a way I had always hoped was possible.

Today marks one year since the soft opening of The Parlor Room, when friends and family showed up, cheered me on, and reminded me why I had to keep going.

Since then, I have hosted brands like Rabbit Hole, Kentucky Owl, Old Steelhouse, Bardstown Bourbon Company, Maker’s Mark, Heaven Hill, and Chicken C**k. I have watched Katie Cruz and Lee Caldwell take center stage with stunning cocktails. I have educated enthusiasts, hospitality workers, writers, influencers, podcasters, and people just beginning their bourbon journey.

I have upcoming events that are selling out quickly with friends like Drew Kulsveen and Pablo Moix, and I am nowhere near done.

To everyone who has encouraged me, supported me, cried with me, laughed with me, drank with me, booked a ticket, shared a post, or followed along, thank you. I would not be here without you.
Cheers to one year of The Parlor Room, and to everything still to come.
