Agents across the country were panic reading policy memos, brokers were hosting emergency Zoom calls titled “We Think We Understand It Now (for real this time)” and group chats were exploding with conflicting interpretations. MLS’s were deleting compensation fields like they were scrubbing a crime scene, and buyer agents were practicing how to say “please sign this” without crying.

Fast forward to today, does anyone know what’s going on?

The rules changed. The forms changed. The expectations changed.

The only consistent thing?
Headaches.
And buyer brokers wondering if Venmo is an acceptable form of commission.

And somehow, no one explained any of it to the general public. Or half the industry.
