Latest addition to my “Isolationism” series, featuring Michelangelo’s David at the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, Italy.
Every time I am in a museum, I notice how everyone—myself included—immediately reaches for their phone. While I try to stay in the moment by silencing notifications and putting my device away, it is striking how much our brains are locked into these handheld devices.
It is no wonder people feel so disconnected from one another today. We often bury our faces in our screens, hoping the next image we post goes viral rather than simply enjoying the experience in front of us.
