The mathematicians known as the “Hidden Figures” were a team of Black women whose calculations were essential to early U.S. space missions. Their work at NASA helped send astronauts into orbit and laid the groundwork for future space exploration.

Their legacy highlights an important truth about STEM: progress is often built through collaboration, problem-solving, and persistence. There are many roles and many ways to belong in STEM fields.
STEM success is built through teamwork and problem-solving!
