Dr. Kaye’s 40-Mile May 16 Walk for Libertas
We are in Countdown Mode to the Walk for Libertas from WDC to Baltimore. We start at a special place and end at Lake Montebello BUT even more importantly I am hosting a 12-hour virtual Freedom School: every hour, we drop another Black History Resource.
Follow up and get educated — learning and sharing our history is a form of Resistance.

Today I had the absolute pleasure to take the students of my Backpack Journalism
Program (it is a one year program that teaches 7th graders how to use cameras, recorders, and editing tools to write and tell their Own stories) along with their schoolmates from Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys (a wonderful school!) to tour Fort McHenry.
They have been studying Civics and History for the past year and nothing made me feel prouder than to hear their questions about America, the Revolutionary War, and the lack of information about the Black men who fought and died during this War.
