Advent isn’t the only part of the church calendar that highlights and requires waiting.
Holy Saturday (or Middle Saturday) - the day the disciples and friends of Jesus mourned, and feared, and probably battled despair. Their hope was in Jesus, and now he lay unmoving in a tomb. And they did not know what would happen come morning.
We do (!).
But let’s wait with them, remembering what Christ went through in Good Friday, with the hope of celebrating good news, an empty tomb, and new life when the sun rises.

Come ye thirsty, come, and welcome! God’s free bounty glorify. True belief and true repentance, every grace that brings you nigh.
